School

Leading English Learning Center(LELC), established in 2004 in Shaoxing, is a professional language school specialized in English training for students (from K to 12) as well as in IELTS and TOEFL. It enjoys an excellent reputation in the local area for its small-sized class (8-16 students for each class), individualized education and systematic training. As a matter of fact, a great number of students started taking the training classes in LELC at the age of 7 or 8. Most of them have made such a rapid progress that for the 6 consecutive years many top students went to Hangzhou Foreign Language School and after graduation, some of them were enrolled in Peking University or Tsinghua University because of their excellent English. By “word-by-mouth” LELC keeps attracting more and more excellent students. Through our progressive and highly structured teaching methodology, our students gain advantages in English learning at their school, as well as personal development and growth.

In 2007, LELC was awarded “Excellent Education Institution” by the local government and “the Model School of Oxford Children’s English ‘Let’s go’” by Shanghai Education Press. In 2009 and 2010, LELC successfully hosted two top national English contest, the “ CCTV Star of Outlook English Talent Competition” and “ New Concept English Competition” by FLTRP. In 2009, LELC got the licence to employ foreign teachers, issued by National Foreign Expert Bureau of the central government. In this way, LELC can be expected to grow and develop step by step through a systematic, and effective way of learning English.

From the time of its establishment LELC has been dedicated to providing progressive methods of systematic English learning for young learners through face-to-face instruction by professional foreign and Chinese teachers. To give the best quality of training class, we guarantee that there will be no more than 16 students. Our staff demonstrates its service through a commitment to excellence and by genuine concern for the well-being and progress of all our students. We strive to adopt positive and cooperative attitudes towards everyone who works and studies here.

Learners in LELC start from kindergarten up to high school level.
Our regular program includes spring semester and fall semester, as well as summer and winter classes, teaching by levels such as Oxford Children’s English “Let’s go”, Phonics, New Concept English 1-3, oral English class, Trinity, New Interchange, IELTS and TOEFL VIP classes for those who wish to study overseas.

MMUN is a powerful experience for our Montessori young people to come together to listen, negotiate, collaborate and then offer solutions to some of our planet’s most pressing problems. This program is an important step toward achieving our vision of educating for world peace.
The Montessori Model United Nations in many ways is structured to meet the following adolescent needs:

1. Adolescents need to reinvent their own society as a fundamental need.
2. Adolescents need real-life experiences.
3. The adolescent curriculum is the medium used for social understanding
4. The adolescent learns about civilization through its origin in agriculture
5. Adolescents need to understand that when people settled on land, production and exchange began and continue today
6. The aggregate of human society is based on the division of labor, which the adolescent comes to understand through various business ventures

Spelling Bee
The National Spelling Bee was formed in 1925 as a consolidation of numerous local spelling bees, organized by The Courier-Journal in Louisville and having nine competitors. Frank Neuhauser won the first National Spelling Bee held that year, by successfully spelling "gladiolus." The origin of the word "bee" as used in "spelling bee" is unclear. "Bee" refers to "a gathering", where people join together in an activity. and the origin of this sense of "bee" is related to the word "been".

It is a highly competitive annual spelling bee in the United States. It is the nation’s largest and longest –running education promotion, with participants from other countries as well. Over the years, the competition has been opened to contestants all over the world. Participants from countries other than the United States must be regional spelling-bee winners as well.

On May 2014, Xiyuan Wang from LELC, participated in the Spelling Bee Final in Washington, as the champion of China, ranked No 47 out of 281 top spellers all over the world. http://www.spellingbee.com/
